A series of twenty-two paintings capturing the powerful atmosphere of the seaside experience in collective memory. Sublime and quirky in mood, it is a metaphorical journey using quintessentially English themes. End of the Pier Show combines Miriam's interest in 'found' photographs with her knowledge of the coast to
evoke the lost era of the British seaside holiday.
Exhibited with additional drawings at the Stables Gallery, 8 February to 4 March 2007.
Acrylic on firm-backed plywood; app.25 cm x 17 cm.
